Salary: £27,213 - £29,457 p.a, plus Car Allowance
Contract Type: Fixed Term (12 months)

Do you want to help prevent homelessness in Wealden?
Who?
The successful candidate will be an enthusiastic, self-motivated individual ideally with a good knowledge of housing and associated legalisation. You will need to be organised and methodical to manage a complex and varied workload. You will need a positive attitude and caring approach towards customers. You will have excellent communication, negotiation and problem-solving skills to find solutions for those facing housing problems.
What will you be doing?
- You will help support people to help resolve their housing issue.
- You will carry out home visits and work with each individual and household to reduce the immediate risk of living arrangements breaking down.
- You will provide proactive support to ensure they can access ongoing support and prevent them becoming at risk of homeless again in the future, this includes finding suitable alternative accommodation in the private rented sector.
- You will support the Housing Options Officers with discharging the Councils’ responsibilities to proactively prevent and relieve homelessness and support them with making their statutory enquiries.
What do you need?
- Knowledge and understanding of the key causes of homelessness.
- Experience of working in a housing related support role and/or experience of delivering advice and assistance in a similar setting
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- High standards of customer service and an empathetic approach
- Access to a vehicle for work purposes for travel across East Sussex
