Economic Development and Culture Officer

This is an exciting opportunity to join a newly established team, with the recent refocus and investment into additional resources into Economic Development and Culture.

The Council are looking to appoint two Economic Development and Culture Officers to join the newly established team. You will need to be a motivated self-starter with a passion and interest in economic development, tourism and culture.

The roles will deliver against the Council’s priorities in economic development, culture, tourism and employment and skills. The immediate priorities will be the delivery of our Shared Prosperity Funding year 4 allocation, developing and shaping our future work around cultural delivery given the refocus and commitment of the Council to cultural development, and delivery of the Economic Development Strategy.

What will you be doing?

The Economic Development and Culture Officers will be responsible for:

• Contributing to the development and delivery of cultural projects and priorities for the District
• Supporting, and in some cases, leading projects in relation to economic development and culture
• Delivering, with key partners and stakeholders, the recommendations from the recently adopted Economic Development Strategy for the District
• Identifying funding opportunities and in some cases leading on the submission of bids
• Develop and deliver digital campaigns, to include website development, social media and electronic communications

 

What do you need?

• Enthusiastic, highly motivated self starter with the ability to positively influence and motivate others
• Interest and understanding of economic development, tourism, and culture sectors
• Proven experience of working on service delivery relating to economic development, tourism, or culture
• Experience of working with external partners to deliver programmes
• Experience of successful delivery of projects with evidence of meeting targets
