
The Wealden Community Lottery is an online fundraising solution designed to help local organisations to diversify their fundraising streams and enable year-round fundraising in a safe, fun and effective way.
Not-for-profit organisations such as charities, sports clubs, residents’ associations, community groups, parish councils, village halls and PTAs are all encouraged to sign up.
From every ticket sale, the chosen cause receives 50% from the sale of each £1 ticket. Every Saturday there are weekly cash prizes to be won up to the £25,000 jackpot and with 50:1 odds of winning a prize.
Over the past 18 months, a total of £100K has been raised for good causes and the central fund combined which has had 3,442 winners, totalling combined cash prizes of £14,250 and a total of 10,326 free tickets have been won.

Children with Cancer Fund provides a much loved and valued service for the community. They aim to alleviate the suffering of children who have/had cancer and their families across East Sussex, Brighton and Hove. They primarily achieve this by hosting social events, granting wishes and providing holidays in one of their three caravans.

The Crowborough Community Pantry has signed up to the Wealden Community Lottery to help raise funds for a permanent home. This is an exciting project which will take a while to deliver so being able to raise regular funds shows their commitment to their funders and the community. It allow their supporters to contribute in a small but regular way.
Crowborough Community Orchard is a wonderful oasis, with over 100 fruit trees, including several heritage Sussex varieties, and a Forest School site used by local primary schools. The whole site is managed to enhance biodiversity.

Girlguiding helps girls develop the skills and confidence to grow into the young women they want to be, and empower them to make a positive difference in their community. They have fun and make friends. They have Units in Wadhurst, Crowborough and Hartfield and welcome girls from 4yrs to 18yrs.

Crowborough Community First Responders provides specially trained volunteers to respond to emergency 999 calls alongside South East Coast Ambulance Service, in Crowborough, Rotherfield, Wadhurst, Withyham and surrounding parishes. They also provide and maintain the network of Public Access Defibrillators in the local area and carry out awareness sessions on how to use these, combined with other lifesaving skills that the public can use ahead of professional help arriving.

They actively engage with local young people and their families. They offer a free service to all their clients. The aim of clued-up is to ‘improve the quality of life for young people in Wealden by offering an integrated approach to young people’s health and wellbeing through a unique combination of prevention, early intervention and crisis work’. Much of their work is concerned with young people’s mental health which is promoted through their ’It’s ok to talk’ service in conjunction with East Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust, they offer a Sexual Health Service which offers free and confidential support to young people, they provide pregnancy testing, testing for S.T.I’s and provision of free condoms within the C-Card Scheme. Young people’s physical health needs are supported with information regarding agencies, clubs etc who provide activity based programs and events. Clued-up aims to provide a better quality of life in all aspects which promotes positive lifestyle changes, including concerns regarding drugs, alcohol etc.
Dementia Singing Experience, Sussex take structured and interactive singing, activity and craft sessions into community day care centres and dedicated care homes supporting those living with dementia and offering respite opportunities for carers. Their interactive singing, craft and movement sessions are unique in the fact that they approach every individual and make sure that everyone feels relaxed and at ease. They know that stimulation is essential for the self esteem, well being and sense of purpose for those touched by dementia and singing and interaction is the perfect therapy.

ENGage TN22 clubs provides a much loved and valued service for the community. They offer a lunchtime club to combat loneliness and isolation within the Wealden area, based in the village hall in the village of Hadlow Down. They also offer a TN22 Plus club for people living with mild to moderate dementia, which gives family members a days respite. Both clubs offer activities, nutritious lunch and visiting entertainment. Clubs run alternate Wednesdays in the Hadlow Down village hall with transport to and from the venue if requested.

The object of the Academy is to encourage the development of badminton in East Sussex, and managing of its Squads. They also aim to support progression in badminton and ultimately this often means a player improving sufficiently to be selected for the Sussex County squads. They are there to provide the additional training with professional coaching for those players that require more experience and knowledge of the sport to pursue their ambitions.

East Hoathly and Halland Community Garden provides a safe space for people to come together and garden. They focus on promoting good mental health and well being by being outdoors and growing fruit and veg to support their local foodbanks. It is a fun and sociable place surrounding by ancient woodlands.

The Friends of the Mint House is a charity dedicated to the purchase, restoration and of the 500-year old Mint House on Pevensey High Street for use as a unique Museum and Heritage Centre. It will tell the story of the people of Pevensey, Westham and the surrounding areas of Sussex. Housed in a local iconic property that is now Grade II*listed, as well as being on Historic England’s ‘Heritage at Risk’ register, they regularly hold open days, community events, regular quizzes, education days and archaeology days for both adults and children. With the gracious support of the owner, the Friends were granted custodianship of the building in August 2021, with the aim of it the preservation of the Mint House to the highest architectural and heritage standards.

Their intention is to fill the gap left by the 2018 closure of the Forest Row tip by offering residents local options for managing unwanted materials.

Friends Of Cross In Hand Primary School over the last 5-6 years have worked tiredlessly to raise funds to repair and perform works on their outdoor heated swimming pool. They are aiming to continue to raise funds to offset ongoing general repair and maintenance works that are required at the site. Future project works also include refurbishment of their changing facilities and the installation of heatpumps and solar panels. At present their pool is now open for not only their school to learn to swim but other local schools also, they hire the facility out for external private hires including scout groups, childrens homes, local familes and pool parities. They also offer after school swimming lessons to children and adults of all ages and abilities in partnership with Heathfield Swim School.

Groombridge Community Post Office and Shop was saved from closure by the Parish Council after outcry from the local community. Now run by a non profit Community Interest Company, and supported by a band of volunteers, is a vital and much loved local service for the community.
They need your help so they can continue to offer and even expand their service. Your support of Groombridge Post Office will mean that it can continue to provide vital services to local residents and those from neighbouring towns and villages who have sadly lost their own Post Office.
The lottery has generated them over £2,000 for their cause since they started. It has also helped them promote the Post Office and encourage new users. The first purchase they made with the money generated was a new card stand that enabled them to stock more cards in the shop, bringing in more income to support the post office.
Hailsham FM, are a local community radio station proud to serve Hailsham and the surrounding areas, run entirely by volunteers. They provide entertainment 24 hours a day – with a mix of music from across the decades, and unique specialist music shows every evening. They also feature talented local musicians performing live in the studio.
They keep you up-to-date with local weather, travel and upcoming events, with interesting guests from their local area, cookery and gardening tips, financial advice, regular quizzes and brainteasers and so much more. Their presenters range in age from 20s to 80s and come from all walks of life

They are there from their bedside for however long they are needed with understanding, information, support, guidance, counselling, life skills, reablement and friendship.
A brain injury, which includes Stroke, can happen to anyone at any time, devastating and changing lives forever. It is the largest cause of disability in the UK, advances in science thankfully mean more people survive than ever before, but care after discharge from hospital is failing people.
Hellingly Bowls Club is a friendly country club who welcome all ages to play this wonderful game.
The Lottery funds have given Hellingly Bowls Club a real boost in respect to the maintenance and accessibility of the Club’s facilities to the community. The funding has been used to ensure their paths and spectator areas have remained safe and welcoming for their community members and visitors.

Their skate park can allow young people in the parish to socialise whilst staying fit and active; and develop their skills in the popular sports of skateboarding, scooters, roller skating and BMX-ing.
Hailsham Old Pavilion Society provides a much loved and valued service for the community. Their local art deco cinema and live arts venue supplying reasonably priced entertainment for Hailsham and surrounding areas

They need your help – any monies that they receive through the lottery will be put towards a small clubhouse. This would enable them to offer a more cosy, social and learning experience for their disabled members whilst they are waiting to drive, particularly useful on wet, windy and colder days. They would also like to purchase an additional horse that can take heavier members or those confined to wheelchairs. This would enable them to extend their disabled membership to others who may either wish to try out and enjoy, the carriage driving experience or want the therapeutic benefits of having regular contact with horses and ponies and people with similar interests.
Hailsham Festival of Arts and Culture is held annually in September and is now entering its nineteenth successful year. The festival represents a celebration of talent, creativity and imagination centred in the market town of Hailsham and its surrounding area with events including art, music, dance, drama, creative writing, poetry and film. The festival began in 2007 with a highly regarded Art Trail which has grown in strength and diversity ever since and is a rich showcase for local artistic talent and skill. Working in partnership with Hailsham Artists’ Network, it regularly includes over 100 artists in 18 venues across the area

Horam Village Hall and Recreation Ground is a hub for the growing community of Horam that provides activities that are close to home, where people can make friends and take part in community events. The Hailsham Historical and Natural History Society, founded in 1961, looks after the Heritage Centre Museum in Blackmans Yard, Market Street, Hailsham, which has a small and interesting display, including period kitchen, farming items, local history, 19th and 20th century photographs, wartime artefacts and general memorabilia. It also has an active programme of meetings and events throughout the year.

Uckfield Town Council is looking to replace the information/interpretation boards within the local nature reserves in Uckfield (Hempstead Meadows and West Park) to guide visitors to the reserve on the history of these sites and the wildlife present. It has been running for over 30 years and provides and exciting, stimulating, secure and inclusive environment. Each child has the ability to choose their activities and are supported by their experienced staff to ensure that they each have the opportunity to explore and learn across all aspects of the curriculum, but in their own way and their own pace.

Mayfield and Five Ashes Community Services (MAYFACS) is a local charity providing support and companionship for the community of Mayfield and Five Ashes. Their aim is to reduce isolation and loneliness for all of their community, of every age. They hold weekly activity groups, monthly trips, community car services, befriending and support services, baby & toddler groups, warm spaces and Ukraine Support Hubs. They have a Community Shed offering weekly sessions and a monthly Repair Cafe. And they want to do so much more!!

Manor Park and Hempstead Fields Residents’ Association provides important and valued services for those living in the community. It serves not only those living on Manor Park and Hempstead Fields but also the residents of Grants Hill Court, Linden Court, Manor House Court and Shaftesbury Court. Its services include a Surgery Car Service, a Good Neighbour Scheme and the Tuesday Warm Space project which is based at the Luxford Centre and which is open to all the residents of Uckfield.

Funds raised have Funds have been used to support the Residents’ Associations services that it delivers in and around the Manor Park and Hempstead Fields which are located in the north Uckfield. These services include their Good Neighbour Scheme, Surgery Car Service and Tuesday Warm Welcome project which serves the whole of Uckfield. The funds will also go towards the expenses of refurbishing a large planter which is planted and maintained by one of their members.
Nutley Memorial Hall opened 52 years ago and provides a large village hall for both the local community or those further afield. It consists of two meeting rooms a well equipped kitchen, large stage, new stage lighting, dressing room, new audio visual equipment and plenty of parking for hall users. Currently the Preschool, Zumba, Karate, Horticultural Society, Millenium Players, Jumble and Tabletop Sales, Art Classes, Quizzes, Evergreens, Birthday Parties, Girl Guide Association, Cycle groups and Receptions are held the hall and rooms can be hired individually.

Ninfield Bonfire Society has been running since 2009 helping to carrying on the long Sussex Bonfire tradition. Every year they run fundraisers to put on a free torchlit procession, bonfire and firework display to the local community. This event in turn raises money to local good causes and charities. They also try to help other community groups with their time and energy.

The Forest Garden, entirely run by volunteers, is about local people growing food in a sustainable way that allows wildlife to flourish too. It was created in 2016, with the help of a start-up grant from Wealden District Council, on an old allotment site that had been abandoned and unmanaged for many years. Their keen volunteers have created clearings for beehives, planted many fruit and nut trees, created a herb garden, built a wildlife pond, and run community workshops on site. They also recently started a Community Orchard next to Pevensey Castle on land set aside by Pevensey Parish Council for us to manage and to plant fruit trees to commemorate the late Queen Elizabeth’s Platinum Jubillee.

Repair Café Uckfield, is part of an international scheme worldwide that aims to restore broken goods rather than binning them. Repair Café Uckfield is run by a team of around 15 volunteers – opens every fourth Saturday of the month to the local community who bring their broken items for repair. Whether members of the public have a broken lamp, radio, TV, bicyle or lawn mower, the volunteers at the café team together to fix these items for free for customers to prevent them having to buy new. There is a great community atmosphere at the Café

Rotherfield St Martin provides friendship, advice and support to older people in our community to help combat isolation and loneliness.

They have used some of the funds raised to help with creating and transforming a allotment into a kitchen garden to supply food for their lunch and club and their ‘feed it back’ table for their community.
Ridgewood Village Hall provides a much valued service for the community south of Uckfield to a wide variety of clubs and societies. The hall is a popular choice with many regular hall hirers during the working week and offers the opportunity of an excllent space for party hire at weekends. In addition to the main hall, they also have a meeting room for hire, ideal for meetings and smaller groups.
They need your help as although the hall benefitted from a full internal refurbishment in 2020, the up keep and ongoing maintenance is essential to continue a high quality community venue.
Emerson College is a charity providing anthroposophically based adult education together with hosting events. They have one of the only biodynamically based botanical gardens in the world where on their 23 acres no pesticides, herbicides, etc have been used for over 60 years resulting in a diversity of their fauna and flora. They also create more than 40% of their on vegetarian / vegan food that is served from their kitchens to guests. But the COVID pandemic drastically reduced income as people were unable to travel and whilst the attendance levels are improving, the College has a legacy of work required to its buildings, especially to refurbish the Grade II listed Pixton House which provides a much loved and valued service for the community.

Taylor-Made Dreams grants dreams to children with life limiting illnesses throughout Kent, Sussex, and Surrey. They also provide support services to the immediate family including counselling, holistic therapy, medical travel grants, memory making photography sessions, and a very special sibling support service.
The funds raised will go towards granting dreams to terminally ill children in Sussex, Kent, and Surrey, and can also go towards the additional support services they offer the children and their immediate family.
Their mission is to offer free or low cost treatment and therapy to anyone who is in need, in particular those who are unemployed, on low incomes, in receipt of benefits and those who could otherwise not afford to pay for treatment and therapy themselves. Through one to one sessions and group classes, they aim to empower individuals and families to better manage their own health and to build a healthier and happier community. The Rude Mechanical Theatre Co, or The Rudes as they are popularly called, were formed in 1997 as a professional touring theatre company, charity and Company limited by guarantee, and began touring in 1999. They have worked ever since in many theatre spaces but currently they work mainly outdoors. They create brand-new plays in the style of the commedia dell’arte, but with their own characters and stories that are relevant to the modern day. All the actors are also musicians & the plays are full of music. They are all comedies and will give you a good laugh, but they deal too with life issues & you can expect to have something to think about as well. Based in Eastbourne at the Peppe Nappa Studio, they work mainly in small rural communities, and a few towns, right across Southern England from Kent to Somerset, with many venues in East Sussex including several in the Wealden area.
UnderWired passionately believes that all children should have access to live theatre and be able to access extra curricular theatre clubs. They strive to remove barriers preventing this – be it physical and / or financial.
Your donations help them to subsidise their after school musical theatre club ensuring that the most disadvantaged children in their community are still able to attend. Thanks to grants and donations like yours they are able to offer free tickets to major West End musicals – most recently Chitty Chitty Bang Bang at The Congress Theatre, Eastbourne.
Uckfield Heritage supports two listed buildings locally, Nutley Windmill and Bridge Cottage. Bridge Cottage hosts local history talks, markets and an archive of items donated by members of the public. Local groups also hire rooms within the Cottage, and it can be booked for small celebrations. Volunteers within UDPS renovate the windmill and welcome visitors on open days. They also host talks and markets within Bridge Cottage, and catalogue our growing archive of papers, photographs, artfacts, plans, etc held in Bridge Cottage.
Uckfield Art Group was founded over 40 years ago and is much respected locally. They aim to promote wellbeing, particularly to those living on their own, the elderly or busy workers/parents by offering two hours of art on a weekly basis. Many local residents enjoy the art exhibitions as well as the social atmosphere.

These improvements will see the club extend from 2 to 4 RFU-approved changing rooms, additional facilities for referees and a physio space/first aid room. The new building will also host a larger kitchen, bar, function and meeting rooms. A storage facility outside will also create the space they crave, and an extended car park will provide adequate space for their visitors and neighbours.

The Victoria Pavilion Arts Project provides low cost, high quality creative activities and experiences for all their community and especially those with limited access to the arts. They champion their local Artists and Makers through their gallery space, workshops and events, helping them to thrive and promoting the Arts across Wealden.

Wealden Works core objective is to develop employability and life skills for those 16-24 year olds who are not in Employment, Education or Training (NEET). Following the end of main stream education at GCSE age, students can opt to enrol with Wealden Works to help develop further skills and qualifications and explore career choices. Wealden Works is there to support and provide guidance to each learner with the ultimate goal of providing a positive progression/pathway following the time spent at Wealden Works.

Wildhart Radio is a a non-profit making community internet radio station based in Forest Row. They provide a platform and a voice to Forest Row and the surrounding areas, as well as to their International listeners online. They have between 1500 & 2000 listeners a month. This radio station is for the community in all its aspects, and we welcome participation by people from all walks of life. We advocate free expression and aim to reflect the social, cultural & artistic vibrancy of Forest Row and Sussex. Their aim is to make connections, give people a sense of confidence, empowerment, and cultivate a sense of belonging and togetherness.

Wealden Volunteering works to match volunteers with suitable placements across Wealden. Their run by a group of fantastic volunteers. They are always happy to help anyone who contacts or visits them at their centre on Uckfield high street, at one of their pop ups across Wealden or at an event, be it with volunteering, local information, photocopying and laminating, or one of their members looking to advertise. They work constantly to try and get the word out about their amazing charities and organisations in Wealden , making it as straightforward as possible for people to find and get in touch with the right opportunity.

Wateryard Theatre Group, Mayfield was founded in 2008 by a group of dedicated villagers who wanted to support performing arts in the community. They have been successful in involving people of all ages in their productions through offering workshops to children and young people and putting on a very successful Community Play in 2018.

You Raise Me Up charity’ was founded by the late Jane Brooks and her husband Fraser in June 2011. The charity’s sole purpose is to raise funds to support families that have suffered the loss of a young person aged 16-25 years. They are based in East Sussex and support families from East & West Sussex and Kent.
Any funds received will go towards paying for bereavement counselling that they provide free of charge to their families.
1st Hellingly Scout Group is an active, outdoor group of Beavers, Cubs, Scouts, Explorers and Leaders, supporting young people to learn skills for life, share adventures and to make friends in and around the parish of Hellingly, East Sussex, UK.
They are currently fundraising for their ongoing hall renovation project which includes a new floor throughout the building, they are also in desperate need of a new secure fence around our property in Lower Horsebridge.

They have a Hardship fund to help pay towards Camps, equipment and fantastic experiences for all their Scouts, including those from Ukraine. 1st Heathfield Scout Group provides fun and adventure for young people aged 6 to 18 years of age. They are an active and outdoor based scout group with 110 young people attending each week, supported by 40 adults and young leaders. They also have a large waiting list of young people of all age groups and are wanting to develop and grow the group.
They are looking to fundraise to extend their storage facilities to allow them to purchase equipment for pioneering, a skill that they currently have difficulty in teaching. They also wish to clear and develop the lower part of their site to extend the area in which they can camp, cook and adventure. They are also hoping to build a group fire pit around which they can, sing, cook and enjoy the outdoors.
They need your help so they can continue build and develop these facilities which in turn would allow them to grow the group providing much needed places for those 64 young people currently on their waiting list.
