The Civic Community Hall in Hailsham provides an attractive, up-to-date venue at affordable prices for community events, children’s parties, and gatherings of up to 150 to 180 people depending on the event.
A stage area and kitchen facilities are available as well as ample free parking. A varied range of seating configurations can be provided as can drop-down projection screens (projectors currently not available), audio and lighting.
The Civic Community Hall is also used by Wealden District Council for Civic meetings at certain periods during the daytime. Please check availability below, before booking.

TEN – Temporary Event Notice (for the sale of Alcohol)
If you wish to supply or sell alcohol you must apply for a Temporary Event Notice. You may book your event first, but will have to prove to us 30 days prior to the event date that you have the correct licence or we will cancel the booking.

Costs
The cost of hiring the hall will differ on whether it’s during peak or non-peak times, and whether the booking is for commercial organisations or charities/non-commercial. Where alcohol is present the hire cost is increased.

- Kitchen facilities (suitable for tea, coffee, cakes, cold buffets – no hot food to be prepared in the kitchen facility): £11.00
- Crockery and cutlery Cups, saucers, plates, serving platters, glasses, spoons and non sharp knives are provided. It is the responsibility of the hirer to clean these and return them in a ready to re use state. There is a dishwasher and detergents and cleaning materials are provided.
Deposit (per booking)
- Refundable cleaning or damage charge deposit: £50.00 or £150.00 (amount dependent on nature of event). Including breakages of china and cutlery.
- Damage to the Civic Community Hall Flooring i.e. by stiletto heels, will be chargeable and may be in excess of the deposit held.
