What Information do I need to supply when making a payment.
In order to make a payment you must quote the correct reference number.
Council Tax
The reference is 9 numbers, starting with a 5, and can be found in the top right hand corner of your bill.
To pay the bill shown above you would enter 500000000 in the reference number box.
Business Rates
The reference is 9 numbers, starting with a 1, and can be found in the top right hand corner of your bill.
To pay the bill shown above you would enter 111111111 in the reference number box.
Council Invoices
The reference number is your customer account number followed by the invoice number, with no spaces. The customer account number is 8 numbers and the invoice number is ten digits and can be numbers and letters.
To pay the bill shown above you would enter 80808189WS00026039 in the reference number box.
To pay the bill shown above you would enter 9099799400R0054248 in the reference number box.
Housing Rents
The reference is 6 numbers and can be found on the bottom right hand side of your rent payment card.
To pay the rent for the above you would enter 676666 in the reference number box.
You can also find your reference number on your rent statement.
To pay the rent for the above you would enter 664652 in the reference number box. Please make sure you don’t include the space.
Housing Benefit Overpayments
The reference is 8 numbers, starting with a 4, and can be found in the top right hand corner of your bill.
To pay the bill shown above you would enter 40000000 in the reference number box.
Planning Applications via the Planning Portal
If you lodge a Planning Application via the national Planning Portal you will be directed to our online payments page. You will need to quote the Planning Portal Reference number which will be in the format PP- followed by 8 numbers. For example:

Planning Applications via Wealden District Council
Planning Applications lodged with the Council can be paid for online. The reference you will need to quote is the Planning Application Number that will be provided to you by Development Management.
The reference is in the format: WD/0000/0000
Building Regulation Certificates
The reference you will need to quote is the certificate number.
The reference is in the format R/000/0000
Building Regularisation Fees
The reference is in the format F/000/0000 or B/000/0000
