This is a fantastic opportunity to join a newly established team, with the recent refocus and investment into additional resources into Economic Development and Culture.

The Council is seeking an Economic Development and Culture Project Officer to join the newly established team. You will need to be a motivated self-starter with a passion and interest in economic development, tourism and culture.

The role will involve supporting the team to deliver against the Council’s priorities in economic development, culture, tourism and employment and skills. The immediate priorities will include the development of our Explore Wealden digital channels, to include functionality improvements to the website and delivering a programme of promotional campaigns; business   communications and working with key partners and organisations in Wealden; and supporting the delivery of our Shared Prosperity Funding year 4 allocation.

What will you be doing?

The Economic Development and Culture Project Officer will be responsible for:

  • Contributing to the development and delivery of cultural projects and priorities for the District
  • Supporting the delivery of a range of projects in relation to economic development and culture
  • Developing and monitoring key performance indicators to monitor the progress of relevant strategies
  • Develop links and partnerships with other authorities and organisations to help deliver the service
  • Lead on the delivery and promotion of the Explore Wealden digital channels, to include monitoring and reporting
  • Lead on the delivery of business communications

 

What do you need?

  • Proactive and motivated individual, capable of working to deadlines using own initiative
  • Excellent interpersonal and organisation skills
  • Some knowledge, experience or strong interest of working within economic development, tourism or culture
  • Experience of working with partners, either internal or external
  • Some experience of successful project delivery with evidence of meeting targets
