The ESPH is committed to providing Social Value within the delivery of its services and projects, where possible, for the benefit of the local communities.
Social Value is defined in the Public Services (Social Value) Act 2012 as: “The benefit to the community from a commissioning/procurement process over and above the direct purchasing of goods, services and outcomes.”
Examples of incorporating Social Value into procurement contracts could include:
- Apprenticeships
- Workshops
- Planting Trees
- School Visits
- Environmental Impact / Climate Change

3VA (Wealden, Eastbourne & Lewes)
On considering Social Value when contracting with the Councils, we have a close connection with the Federation of Small Businesses (FSB) to source products locally and sub contract with smaller suppliers within the Districts and Boroughs.
