Post early if you have a postal vote

With the General Election on 12 December only days away, Wealden’s Electoral Services team are urging postal voters to beat the Christmas rush.

"If you have received a postal vote for the General Election, please do complete the ballot paper and post back to us as soon as possible," said Trevor Scott, District Returning Officer.

"The postal service gets very busy in the run up to Christmas. Delays in posting your completed ballot paper may mean it takes longer to arrive at our offices for processing.

"Any posted ballot papers received after 10pm on Thursday 12 December cannot be accepted. A prompt return makes sure every postal vote arrives in time."

Across the country, the Post Office will be handling thousands of postal votes as well as Christmas cards and parcels.

If you have a postal vote, it is important to follow the postal vote procedure carefully. Making sure you include your signature and date of birth on the form which accompanies your ballot paper.

If you are voting in person on Thursday 12 December, the location of your polling station is given on your polling card. The information can also be found on the Wealden website. Remember, some parts of Wealden District are covered by different Parliamentary constituencies. Details will be on your polling card.
