As a member of our Policy team you will undertake research projects to support the development, implementation and review of a range of strategies and policies across the Council. The Policy team deals with partnership working, public and media relations and policy development across the broad spectrum of District Council work and this post will give you an opportunity to undertake project work with different Service areas in support of corporate policy development and activity. You will also be required to make presentations, draft reports and executive summaries for the Chief Executive and Directors, deal with enquiries by phone, e-mail and letter and provide general executive assistant support as and when required.
You will have a relevant degree in Economics, Business Studies, Politics or a similar qualification with some experience of dealing with customers and members of the public. You will need to be an excellent and effective communicator, confident acting on your own initiative and as part of a team, and be able to stay calm under pressure. You must be committed to providing excellent customer care and have advanced ICT skills. You will also need to be flexible, be able to prioritise and have use of a car or an alternative means of transport for occasional travel.
